As we head into another 9 weeks of lockdown here in Ireland, I think we all know that community is everything.
A few weeks ago, myself and Dinny Murphy started a podcast series profiling some of the legendary figures of Rathpeacon G.A.A. We talked to Club Secretary and this year’s football manager, Cormac O’Neill in our first episode.
In our second episode we talked to Cian Clifford, the big man up front who could turn a game in the blink of an eye.
This week we talked to two giants of Rathpeacon G.A.A., Brendan Ahern and Aidan O’Brien. The two lads talked us through a few county finals and their fond memories of playing with the club.
The response has been really positive and it is nice to hear that people are waiting for the next episodes! People are definitely feeling the effects of a full year in and out of lockdown and if we can alleviate some of the sadness and inject a bit of craic into people through the podcasts then we’ve done something right.
Everyone is missing their bit of social interaction at this stage, so why not listen to a few lads who have shared it all out on the pitch reminisce over a few cans?
