Séamus Heaney wrote these words as part of his play The Cure at Troy. I thought they were fitting for where we are at right now, especially in Ireland.
This week sees more restrictions lifted with shopping centres opening up. G.A.A. pitches will be opening at the end of the month and cinemas and theatres will be opening in mid-July. There is still a long way to go in regards to getting back to normal, whatever that is, but we are coming together as a nation and getting through this. The end might be a long ways away but we will reach that shore together, sharing out the work and helping each other out.
Ireland’s climate doesn’t always permit sunny days ahead but the clouds will pass. We’re all in this together.
